Rainy, lazy days

Well, nothing extremely exciting has been going on around here lately. No mower incidents, celebrity sightings, nothing!! I have a sick baby girl, but other than that...just no good blogging material. Emma is still enjoying school! She is learning her vowels in cursive - she is really a neat writer. And she could hardly wait to get into the van yesterday before telling me that one little boy in her class had to move his card ALL THE WAY to red! (It's a stoplight and they start on green every day, move to yellow, then red, if they don't behave.) She was tripping over herself to be able to tell about what he did! His infraction - choking her cousin Logan for NO REASON! "Honest, mom, Logan was just sitting on the reading carpet, obeying the teacher, and Matthew just decides to start choking Logan! Logan couldn't breath and so I raised my hand (I told her next time there's a life or death situation, just speak up!) and told the teacher that Logan couldn't breath!" There is the first "plus" to having Logan and Emma in the same class!!

Maley has been not feeling good the past 2 days. We are usually a very well bunch, but since I've started blogging I've had 2 sick girls, hmmmm - is this a coincidence?!? Trying to get mama's attention?!? She has been in her pj's the past 2 days (different ones, with a bath in the middle :P But yesterday I went to get her up and she didn't have any underwear on under her pj bottoms. I asked why and got the very simple, "Because I don't want to." She didn't feel good, so I cut her a little slack and didn't fight with her to put any on - we were just staying home and she did have pants on! But I think that she enjoyed going commando and little too much. It was a small battle to get the underwear on her today! We went to get Emma yesterday from school and she wanted to get out. I said, "No, you don't feel good and you have pj's on and no panties! I will just hop out and open the door for Emma." "Why, mama, you have panties on?" Yes - I guess you can't get out of the car unless you have panties on!! I knew about the "clean underwear in case of an accident" rule, this must be a new one to add!

Well, we have had the effects of this tropical storm, or whatever it is. Rain, rain for the past couple days. Makes justifying a nap in the afternoons sooooo much easier. The good thing is is that we are far enough inland that all we usually get is a little wind and rain. Nothing to be too concerned over.

Something else - we just finished watching Pollyanna the other night - highly recommend that movie if you've never seen it. (Just between us - Scott actually enjoyed it, too!) Since it's been so rainy, we had it for the girls to watch with popcorn the other night and I told Scott to just sit with us and he could go to sleep. We could only watch 1/2 of it the first night and once we got the girls in bed Scott asked if we could finish watching it - it had him on the edge of his seat!!! It is a very cute movie and nothing to be concerned over young ears hearing. Emma thought their telephone was funny and we loved seeing all the women in their hats - some were awfully big, though. Anyway, I think we're going to get the old "Shaggy Dog" and the "Shaggy DA" for the weekend. I'm sorta enjoying all the rain after so much sun, heat and humidity! Looking soooo forward to the fall - that's my favorite time.

Anyway, it's time for lunch and I've heard myself ramble enough. I will try to do better in the near future with keeping up to date.

Thanks for including me for your movie nights. It is fun to watch a movie and not hear this weird "snoring" sound in the background. Oh, that's right, you have heard your Dad snore...it's not background music, it is definitely the major attraction to any movie...or maybe "dis"traction!
Thanks again. I may be calling you tonigt around 3:00am if that coffee has kept me awake like the last time.
